💥well said chef 💥w#Repost @krissharv3y (@get_repost) @bakelikeapro ・・・ A few days ago, I mentioned that there seems to be a number of pastry chefs that make pretty stuff for Instagram but in real life, you'd be disappointed to see and taste their work. Maybe they have a colorful glaze on a mousse cake or 1/3 of their entremet is chocolate decor (uh, can't you be subtle? It's not a show piece. It's a cake!). My favorite move is the chef that has to use tweezers for EVERYTHING 🙄. Putting hazelnuts on a plate? Tweezers! Need a raspberry placed next to the tart? Tweezers!! How'd we do it before tweezers? Chefs, you're making food. You aren't performing in front of Julius Caesar. I love the move where they pick something up with their hands, place it in their opposite hand then use the tweezers to put it in place. And then there is the chef that doesn't make their own tart shells. As if this is like going to the moon and the only person that can still make tart shells are petit ladies in the Philippines. And you can buy anything. You can buy frozen churros, mousse mixes and even simple syrup! But buying them, creating a dessert around them and making an epic production for social media just makes me shake my head.
